NOW & THE VISION
At WilsonHaus, we’ve intentionally built our rescue to be small, thoughtful, and impact-driven. Our headquarters in Appleton, Wisconsin houses a limited number of dogs at a time, allowing us to focus on quality of care, not just quantity.
Every dog that enters our program is known, supported, and given the time and resources they need to truly transition - not just move through a system.
To expand our reach without compromising that level of care, we’ve developed an innovative foster model that includes both traditional full-time fostering and our hybrid foster program. This approach allows more people to get involved, removes common barriers to fostering, and ultimately helps us say “yes” to more dogs who need a chance.
At the same time, we place a strong and growing emphasis on prevention programming - because the most impactful rescue work happens before a dog ever enters the system. Through targeted spay and neuter initiatives and community support in high-need areas, we’re working to reduce the number of dogs entering overcrowded shelters in the first place.
Looking ahead, our long-term vision is to create a larger-scale rescue and foster facility - a space designed for healing, growth, and second chances. We envision foster pods, open land, enrichment and training areas, and specialized care offerings that allow us to support animals at every stage of their journey.
Above all, we are committed to doing rescue intentionally and thoroughly - ensuring that every animal who enters our care is given not just the chance to survive, but the opportunity to truly thrive.

Prevention is a vital part of rescue. WilsonHaus is committed to being a part of the solution and assisting with spay and neuter initiatives. We believe in assisting rescues doing community spay & neuter events in over populated areas, such as Yaqui Animal Rescue who offers a community spay and neuter program

MEET THE
FOUNDER AND PRESIDENT
Morgan McBee
The rescue seed was planted in 2018 when Morgan adopted Wilson - now the namesake for WilsonHaus Rescue, Coffee and Candles. Seeing him go from surviving to thriving when given the tools and environment was inspiring and fueled Morgan into brainstorming how to become more involved.
In 2021, Morgan left her nursing career to fully dedicate her time and energy to raising funding and awareness for animals in need of a second chance - for animals like Wilson. Morgan used entrepreneurship to help raise funding for already established rescues, donating profits from the candle business.
In 2023, Morgan lost her second rescue dog, Lewis to a terminal illness - which inspired her to fundraise 100,000 dollars for animals in need in his honor. One of those campaigns was the 30 in 30 fundraising initiative to raise 30k for equine rescue in 30 days
This was a catalyst event - in that in May of 2023, Morgan attended her first equine auction of which was the last stop before many equines shipped to Mexico for slaughter. Witnessing the traumas society is inflicting on our beloved equine companions - Morgan decided it was time to become even more involved. That is when the notion of WilsonHaus Rescue took form.
Since 2021, Morgan has raised over 900,000 dollars for animal rescue efforts and is looking forward to bringing that tenacity, vision and momentum to WilsonHaus Rescue.
EQUINE RESCUE CONSULTANT
Kaitlynn Mault
Kaitlynn is the founder of Milly's Place Equine Rescue in Valley Center, California.
When she adopted Milly, a rescue horse who was in the direct ship pen scheduled to go to a slaughterhouse, Kaitlynn was inspired to become more involved. She opened Milly's Place Equine Rescue and now rescues and rehabilitates equines out of the slaughter pipeline, animal seizure cases and owner surrender cases.
She has since rescued over 35 equines and counting.
She offers her experience and expertise all things horses, donkeys and mule rescue as well as offers valuable insight into logistics of rescue in general.
Kaitlynn manages a large barn and stable and is able to provide insight on how to scale responsibly, manage financial flow, and plan for the future.
Kaitlynn has a special place in her heart for draft mules, one of the loves of her life being Carl, the draft mule - rescued from slaughter May 2023 and photographed happily above. He loves peppermints and Kaitlynn and will live the rest of his life at Creekside Ranch - home of Milly's Place Equine Rescue.
MEDICAL COORDINATOR
Audrey James
Audrey brings her love and extensive knowledge of all things dogs and horses to WilsonHaus Rescue Board of Directors.
Audrey has worked as an ICU and ER nurse as well as professor for the University of Oshkosh educating the next generation of healthcare professionals. This vast experience lends itself incredibly useful - crossing over into the parallel world of vet med in both advocating for our vulnerable residents and interpreting medical information.
Assisting and advising WilsonHaus on navigating the ins and outs of medical cases, rescue logistics, and the vision to scale the rescue - Audrey brings her impeccable organization skills, intelligence, and years of experience to the table.
Audrey also serves on the Saving Sully Dog Rescue Board and is able to provide WilsonHaus guidance in policy, procedure, and best practice.
Audrey has four rescue dogs of her own - Kiki (photographed above), Peter Pan, Izzy and Ari.
