Ramona was pulled from the euthanasia list from Long Beach, California in late March. She was an owner surrender. It is reported she lived in a home with other dogs prior to her surrender.
We do not have a complete or comprehensive history, unfortunately. We suspect due to her medical presentation that she was used heavily for breeding purposes. Ramona is also a unique girl in that she was placed on the euthanasia list due to a large mass that hangs from her belly. This medical issue was more than the shelter was equipped to treat. Thankfully, a follower sent Ramona's video to us and we were able to intervene.
WilsonHaus will be consulting with our veterinary team and developing a care plan to remove the masses and discuss what Ramona's prognosis is - which will all be communicated thoroughly to her future adopters.
She will be available for adoption once her series of surgeries is complete and she has been medically cleared by our team. We estimate this will be late May/early June.
More information to come for our sweet Ramona as we learn more.

AN OVERVIEW
EXERCISE
FAMILY
age & breed & personality
Ramona enjoys lounging and is low energy. Once she has her masses removed, she may experience more comfort for walks and longer activities
Ramona has done well with kiddos, cats, and other dogs. She engages in appropriate corrections if a dog is "too much" for her chill disposition
Estimated to be around 7 years old.
Ramona will politely ask for attention with her paw, enjoys showing off her stuffies and serenades the household with grunts and snores as she snoozes.
